Our history

 

 

1981

Founded by Uwe Hartwigsen.

1991

Manufacture of components in vacuum process with an absolutely smooth surface.

1996

Reformation of the AQUARENA Freizeitanlagen GmbH due to takeover of the slide division of KVS, Krems, Austria.
Transfer of shares by Uwe Hartwigsen to Jochen Bohnet, Rainer Braun and Jörg Hartwigsen.

1998

Reformation of FGGT due to takeover of the slide division of the company SGGT.
Uwe Hartwigsen retires from the company.

1999

Development and construction of the first heat and sound insulation.

2000

Development of the AquaRiver.

2002

First children’s experience worlds built.

2003

Construction of the world’s first glasstube slide -CrystalTube.

2004

Merger with FGGT.

2006

Move to new premises in Jettingen.

2007

Development of AquaRacer, AquaChoice, AquaRocket and AquaLoop.

2008

Construction of the world’s first looping water slide AquaLoop with AquaRocket.

2010

Construction of the world’s first double looping slide Double AquaLoop.

2012

Construction of the first newly developed kids’ areas AquaFun.

2013

Construction of the open tire slide AquaCrater.

2014

New joint company identity of AQUARENA Freizeitanlagen GmbH Österreich and Hartwigsen Freizeitanlagen GmbH Deutschland as AQUARENA.
